FAQs

We know you may have questions about our food tour expedition before booking. Below are some of the top questions that we've got from our recent explorers. If you have more, please feel free to drop us a message — contact us.

Booking & before you go

How do I know it is safe to book on your site?
[TBC] Our site uses HTTPS, and Very Whale Fed Co., Ltd. is a registered company in Thailand. Payment processing details to be confirmed.
Do I have to pay for the food?
No. Food is included unless a tour page says otherwise. Bottled water and soft drinks are included; alcoholic drinks are only included when clearly stated and subject to local drinking-age laws.
Are there minimum guest numbers on your tours?
[TBC] Usually yes; the typical minimum is two guests. If the minimum is not reached, we contact guests to reschedule or offer a full refund. You can email us to check how many people are booked on a departure.
Are your tour groups big?
We keep groups small, usually capped around 8 guests depending on the tour. Larger groups can be arranged by contacting us before booking.
Can I book a private tour?
Yes. Contact us for private-tour details and a quote.
Can I buy a gift certificate?
[TBC] Yes. Gift certificates are available by contacting us and can be set up for a chosen value.
I have a disability, will your tours be suitable?
We will try to accommodate guests with disabilities — please contact us before booking so suitability can be confirmed.
I've got kids! Can they join in the fun?
[TBC] Most tours welcome families and children, but child pricing and age suitability vary by tour. Some tours, especially those involving alcohol, may be adults-only.
I am allergic to some ingredients, can I still join a tour?
[TBC] Please contact us before booking. We can often discuss options with the guide, but safety comes first. Because street food cannot guarantee zero trace ingredients, you may need to sign a waiver and bring medication such as an epipen.
What will I receive after I have booked?
You receive an email ticket with departure date, meeting-point details, guide contact information, and other details. You also receive reminders before the tour.
After booking my tour, do I need to confirm?
No reconfirmation is required. Just arrive at the meeting point on time, with guide contact details available on the ticket if needed.
Can I change the date of my booking?
[TBC] Date changes can be requested by email, subject to availability and provided the request is outside the specific tour's cancellation period.
I need to cancel my tour!
[TBC] Email us to cancel. If the request is outside the cancellation window, we send a full refund. See the individual tour page for the relevant policy.
I am experiencing a problem booking through your website.
Contact us if the website has issues. We can make, cancel, or amend bookings directly — if you have already booked, please mark urgent issues clearly.

On the tour

Are all your guides chefs?
Not necessarily. Our guides are passionate local food people with deep knowledge of Thai cuisine — licensed, and led by routes curated with local food bloggers.
Are all your tours in English?
Yes. Our tours run in English, while guides also speak Thai. For full-group bookings in other languages, contact us early so we can try to arrange support.
What are the travel logistics on your tours?
Tours are usually neighborhood walking tours or a combination of walking and local transport. They are not too physically demanding — contact us with any concerns.
I've booked. Where does my tour start from?
We use a fixed meeting point next to public transport rather than hotel pickup to maximize time eating and exploring. Your ticket includes the meeting point, directions in Thai for a taxi driver, and guide contact details.
What happens if it’s raining?
Tours usually continue in poor weather. Many stops are indoor or covered, and guides may adjust the route. Bring an umbrella in rainy season. If a tour is cancelled for unforeseen reasons, the guide contacts guests.
I'm going to be late for the departure time. What should I do?
[TBC] Please arrive early. Guides wait up to 15 minutes, then depart so the group can complete the route. If you are running late, contact the guide — we may be able to help you rejoin, but late arrivals and no-shows are not refundable.
Should I bring my ticket?
Print the ticket or save it on your phone. If forgotten, you are not penalized, though the guide may need to confirm the booking with head office.
Should I tip?
Guides are paid and will not ask for tips. Tipping is optional and appreciated, but not required.
What do I do when I have a problem during the tour?
Speak with the guide first — guides are trained to solve most issues. If the problem continues or you want to make a complaint afterwards, contact us.
I've got photos, how can I share them with you?
Email us your photos or tag us on social media.
I've got some feedback for you
We follow up after the tour — share good or bad feedback by replying to that email or contacting us directly.
How can I stay up to date with Yummy Food Tour?
Email us to join the newsletter and follow us on our social channels.
